The Election of 1968 was like no other. With society changing rapidly, the President announcing his retirement, mounting demonstrations against the war in Vietnam and the murders of Robert Kennedy and Dr. King, the country seemed to be coming apart.  Historian Barry Bradford will explore the events leading up to the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, explain what happened and show what the long reaching consequences were of the “Battle of Chicago.”

Early Intervention Playgroup-Playing with all Five Senses

Babies and toddlers learn about the world though their senses. Little ones depend on many sensory experiences for brain development. We will provide homemade toys you can try out with your child that encourage development through sensory play.  While you and your child enjoy some quality time playing together, his/her brain will be growing! Materials will be provided to make a toy to take home. Instructions will be provided so you can make more toys at home.  Information about developmental milestones for children birth to 5 years and the Early Intervention program will be available.
